A useful quotation starts with the event: who will be there, how they will experience the performance and where it fits in the programme. Duration is one part of the price, alongside the format, preparation and practical arrangements.
What shapes a quotation?
- Date and venue: availability, location and access arrangements.
- Audience and event flow: guest count, standing or seated groups, and the time to be covered.
- Format: roaming close-up magic, table performances or an agreed presentation.
- Customisation: creative development, rehearsals, props and brand approvals.
- Travel: transport and any accommodation needed for the event.
For example, moving between groups at a reception involves different planning from developing a branded routine for a product presentation. Corporate entertainment and customised magic explain those different briefs.
Market estimates are not a personal quote
An online price range may be an old market estimate, a starting fee or a package with a particular scope. Check its date and what it includes. The estimates in the original September 2025 version of this guide were not current One With Magic package prices and have been removed from this updated guide.
A lower or higher fee alone cannot tell you whether a performer suits your audience. Compare relevant footage, experience, communication and the written scope.
Direct bookings and agency packages
A direct quotation covers the arrangements agreed with the performer. An agency proposal may bundle entertainment with production, staffing or other services. Ask who will perform, who will manage the booking and which costs are included.
Check the performance time, preparation, travel, technical provision and any applicable taxes. Ask for cancellation and payment terms before agreeing the booking; do not assume that different suppliers offer identical terms.
Compare like with like
Send each supplier the same basic brief. A quote for a reception alone cannot be compared directly with one covering reception and dinner, or with a specially developed product routine.
Discuss the parts of the programme that matter most. A focused performance at the right moment may suit your event better than simply choosing the longest booking.
Request a quote for your event
Include the date or timeframe, venue, approximate guest count and occasion. Add the part of the programme you want covered and any travel or brand requirements.
